Elizabeth McFaul is a strong communicator specializing in writing, digital strategy, and social media. With over 5 years experience in developing and executing communication and social media strategies for a variety of brands, Elizabeth has a passion for presenting out-of-the-box strategies that will drive audience engagement and growth. Elizabeth loves working with businesses and nonprofits to develop unique strategies that tell a story and focus on critical moments .
Elizabeth has spent over eight years working with a variety of theatre companies in a backstage capacity, usually as a stage manager or assistant stage manager. Her favourite show that she has worked on was Circus Gothic, which travelled to the 2008 Sears Ontario Drama Festival Provincial Showcase. She won the award for Outstanding Stage Management at the regional level of the Festival. More recently, Elizabeth produced the Kitchener Waterloo Little Theatre’s productions of Yes Virginia, There is a Santa Claus (November 2015); Hamlet (April 2015); and Popcorn Plays (June 2016). She also acted as the Producer for FASS Theatre Company’s 2015 production and Stage Manager for the 2016 production.
Elizabeth graduated from the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University’s BMath/BBA double degree program, with concentrations in marketing, brand management, and statistics. She hopes to pursue her MA in Communications in the future. Elizabeth specializes in strategic brand management, social media, writing, public relations, event design, theatre organization, student engagement, and corporate governance. Backstage Social was created by Elizabeth as a communications resource to talk about social media & communication trends, with a focus on small businesses and not-for-profits.
Elizabeth currently manages two social media accounts, as well as her own, through a variety of social media platforms. A communications enthusiast that is always looking for new opportunities, Elizabeth has an open mind, and fresh perspectives on the future of social. Elizabeth acts as a communications lead for many local professional and businesses, including the Kitchener Waterloo Little Theatre and FASS Theatre Company.
